Spectator Sport: The Terrace

When I first heard of this assignment, I was sure most people would write about their homes or their rooms. It's kinda cliche, so I decided to tell you something a little different, because I don’t like having the same things as other people, it just seems like I’m just doing the work for the sake of completion rather than learning or practicing. I know it’s easier to write about homes but the place I’d rather be in when I’m scared, or lonely, or anything... is the terrace of my house. Not any other part, but the terrace only. Why? Well, it’s on the sixth floor and it’s got this amazing view that just takes your breath away. The breeze up there could calm and soothe me and make me feel fresh.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. New Years Eve, 2011, my family and I were driving to Terminal 21 for the New Years countdown, but my brother was really tired and so was I, so we told our parents to just drop us home and go on without us. But they said what’s the point in being separated. We all went up on the terrace and we had this beautiful view of fireworks from all corners. It was amazing, and it was such a nice way to start the year. The reason I’m telling you this is that it’s not just a place that’s calm and relaxing but it’s a place full of exhorbitant memories too.

The terrace is awesome for just gazing at the stars. You just get lost in your thoughts and feel so relaxed. The view is just so beguilling. No stress, no nothing. Just... stars. It’s an amazing view at night. It's really pacific and really inspiring. It’s kind of a weird thing to say, but don’t knock it till you try it. Whenever I’m up there and just look at the sky, I feel like I’m one with the sky. It’s just so calm up there. I feel really mellow when I'm up there and there’s no sound from downstairs and it’s not a boring place to be, unlike some other people think. It’s a place full of inspiration and awesomeness.
